Hager B & R has added Multidomo Metering to its product catalog as a cornerstone in its solution for multi-site measuring consumption.

According to comments by Craig Chapman, Business Manager - Automation for Australia & New Zealand, "Multidomo Metering effectively satisfies the demand of our customers for consumption monitoring and measurement software."

So far the most significant project installation for Multidomo Metering in Australia is the centralized monitoring of electricity, gas, hot water, drinking water and rain water consumption data within 88 apartments spread over six buildings. Hager’s Tebis KNX equipment is used to capture the apartment consumption data via pulse counters and then aggregate the data back to the Multidomo Metering server on-site. Tenants have access to see their consumption data via the Internet and to compare their consumption against the average consumption of same size apartments within the development.

These apartment buildings are owned by the New South Wales Department of Housing and this development is a landmark 5 star, Greenstar rated site.

The new version 1.3 of Multidomo Metering Standard includes improvements and new features.

Among the improvements should be noted that the graphic display in the Manager is 500% faster than previous versions, especially selecting long periods of time. This is because it includes improvements already developed for the Enterprise Edition, to consolidate daily, monthly and yearly providing better performance for chart representation.

It has also changed the chart window that incorporates several new graphics:

Average Chart: Average, maximum and minimum daily of period selected.

Total Chart: Total accrued daily of period selected.

Chart Today: Actual data for the current day.

Month Chart: Daily average of the days passed the current month.

Annual Chart: Monthly average months of this year.

Another improvement is that it has unified database and monitoring services of the two Metering editions, allowing transition from Standard to Enterprise version simply by installing web applications Manager and Viewer. It will automatically keep the data already collected and processed during the Standard edition.

This allows start a pilot project with a customer's facility or office and grow as needs.

While the current implementation of Multidomo in Apple's App Store is not specially designed for iPad, it works perfectly on iPad. We have test it in our laboratory.

However, the icons display a bit small for the size of the screen, along with the image of video cameras.

We have planned to develop a new version so that the user experience in the iPad is equal to or better than the iPhone. For the moment we don't have dates.

We announce that the following Multidomo Controller client applications will not be supported by our technical department or scheduled troubleshooting or the development of new versions.

* This is mainly due to difficulties to maintain compatibility between versions and brands of mobiles. In principle, we are committed to Windows Mobile and iPhone as preferred media for Multidomo client applications.

Until now the Standard Edition of Multidomo Metering permitted to monitor a single location, the great novelty of this new edition is that it allows you to centralize consumption information (electricity, gas, water) as well as air quality (CO2) from different buildings of one owner.

In this way Multidomo Metering helps building managers make decisions on cost and consumption and design appropriate policies for savings.

It also facilitates the certification of buildings, fulfilling the requirement to maintain a history of the consumption of electricity, gas and water as well as the quality of the air and temperatures.

Communication with the buildings through the corresponding automation system's IP gateway. Multidomo Metering Enterprise is installed on a centralized server of the customer. No need to install or maintain any software on the buildings. Even each building can be implemented with different automation systems (for example an owner can have multiple buildings with KNX and others with LON).

This edition of Metering is based on web applications, to facilitate user access to the information and graphics.

Another new feature is it has a user Manager, allowing grant access to each user on an area, for example his apartment, and he can even compare with the average in the rest of their neighbours with an apartment of the same size.

If implemented in a chain of shops or restaurants, for example, each store manager could see the consumption of his shop, compare with history or even compare with the average of other stores.

This new release fix minor problems

1. The welcome screen remained open and hampered shutting down the application.

2. The background color was not appropriate in some models of phones with Windows Mobile 6.5.

Multidomo Networks as a member of KNX Association, in collaboration with KNX User Club Spain participates in this edition of light + building providing its new software for captuting and consumption monitoring, Multidomo Metering.

At KNX booth visitors may know and explore the energy efficiency project presented by the KNX User Club, where one of the fundamental pieces is Multidomo Metering, which monitor the power consumption and calculated the cost in real time for lighting and HVAC, sending alerts by email and controlling HVAC if consumption exceeded.

Metering will be installed on the new touch computer of Jung and can be explored by any visitor. The version used in this fair is Metering Standard oriented one building facilities.

This new update fixes some issues when the Terminal is in Local Mode, regarding the device state updating.

This update of Multidomo Metering brings two new features:

Time Counters: Show a cumulative daily hours of operation of any equipment, understanding ignition any value greater than zero.

This cumulative data may be used for two benefits:

1. For businesses needing charge consumptions to customers as some hotels that are beginning to charge customers the use of air conditioning and water when exceed a reasonable limit.
2. To know the approximate cost of a device without a meter, creating a calculated value that multiply operating hours by the cost per hour.

Cumulative Data: Both devices and computed values can be configured to store a daily cumulative value. This accumulated can be the daily sum, the average, the maximum value or the minimum value. To configure an accumulated data, go to the grouping tab when editing a device or a calculated value.

The utility of this new feature is the work out for max, min, average or accumulated for meters, temperature or any other sensor counters.

To upgrade to the new version, it is necessary to reinstall the three components of Multidomo Metering (Multidomo Metering ® Database, Multidomo Metering ® Service and Multidomo Metering ® Manager).
